The Beginning

The relationship between S.i. Systems and Professional Advantage has grown over 15 years.

“We started this relationship with the Professional Advantage way back in 2007, and 2008 is when we implemented the solution. We deployed the solution, but we started talking to you and getting into an engagement in 2007 or thereabouts. At that time, the company was about $150 million in revenue,” explains Chandra Ramasamy, Vice President, Enterprise Business Solutions at S.i. Systems.
Ramasamy goes on to say, “It used to be in 2007, and previously all our invoices were manual. All our payments were also manual. Lots of mistakes, a lot of errors.”

At that time S.i. Systems was already running Microsoft Dynamics GP, the enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that 1Staff Back Office is built on. They also had a custom-built front office platform called Match Guide that they’re still running today. Selecting 1Staff Back Office meant being able to continue to use the Microsoft Dynamics GP platform and continue to utilize the integration suite they had already built between Match Guide and 1Staff Back Office. “Whatever transactions we pass through, 1Staff automatically created journal entries for GP. That was a big attraction. Big advantage, and was one of the reasons we selected 1Staff” explains Ramasamy

Today

S.i. Systems has seen several growth spurts and cycles and has been stable for the past 15 years. Now in 2022, S.i. Systems have grown significantly in size and is roughly $650 million in gross revenue.

“With 1Staff Back Office we were able to automate. We have dramatically improved our profitability, which means every dollar that we pass through in terms of processing all the payments and billing, we spend very less in terms of administering,” Ramasamy.

As they’ve grown S.i. Systems has utilized 1Staff Analytics for vital insights into their organization. Now they can slice and dice their data to compare and identify trends, and opportunities, and now they’re exposing that data with Microsoft Power BI.

Looking toward the future

When looking toward the future Ramasamy says, “Our philosophy is very simple. We are a process-driven company, and the process is anchored by Match Guide in the front end, GP for financial systems, and 1Staff for billing and payments period. That’s it. That architecture will never change.”

S.i. Systems has been continuously growing and have no plans of slowing down. “Our goal is to become a billion-dollar company in the next three years,” says Ramasamy.

Just a shy of 200 internal employees now, when asked if they expect to hire additional employees to scale Ramasamy said, “I don’t think so. Our technology platform will take care of this. There won’t be any significant increase. In fact, headcount management of the support services, that’s the reason why we are able to convert more into the bottom line and definitely, 1Staff has helped a great deal.”

“Our productivity is one of the highest, mainly because of the technology platform,” Ramasamy.

When asked what the greatest impact 1Staff has had on S.i. Systems. “100% automation of payments and billing. There is absolutely no manual process. We don’t know how to pay manually anymore in the company. That’s huge, enormously huge. You know, we’re doing about $650 million, half a billion-dollar, every year is going through your automated process,” Ramasamy.
